Winbourne is proud of our senior manager, Julie A. Heimkes, who was awarded the prestigious Jack Daniel Award of Distinction, at the recent APCO (Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials) conference. The Jack Daniel Award recognizes exceptional accomplishments by a commercial member of APCO on a national or international level in the field of public safety communications. It was last given in 2020, and only five others have received it.
During her 30+ years as an APCO member and commercial member, Julie A. Heimkes has served on the Commercial Advisory Council (CAC) and the Membership and Marketing Committee. She is currently a member of the Editorial Committee, where she authored 13 articles for the PSC magazine. Her leadership positions include serving as the Chair of the CAC and a Chapter Commercial Advisory member for the Minnesota and Arizona chapters.
Julie A. Heimkes was also recognized during the annual Chapter Commercial Members and Chapter Officers meeting, where she spoke about the importance of commercial members to the entire APCO membership.
